How does one come up with a business idea?

You could have an idea deep below the surface, which needs a little help to come out. Or you could already have an idea in the works, requiring slight tinkering to get right.

But, no matter what stage you’re at mentally, here are a few steps that you can take aboard to turn a great idea into an even better one and/or into reality.

First ask yourself, what am I good at?

It could be skill like cooking, the ability to tell stories or just in being an optimistic person who can always lighten the mood and change around a situation.

These are all starting points for coming up with a meaningful business idea.

Then, once your talents are laid bare, ask yourself, what matters most to me?

Is it family, friends or making people smile? It could be a number or a variety of things; all contributing to what it is you might be passionate about.

Lastly, what is it you LOVE to do? Skills and talents are all well and good, but you need to love what you do in order to do it.

Maybe it’s singing, drawing or something else entirely.

When following these three steps, you’re already far closer to unearthing the ultimate business idea.

So get out there and get going!
